For the longest time, the updates were't even listing in the updates section, but were accessible under purchases. when it tries to update, it gets stuck "calculating", and won't download any of the update.. It's says installing in app store, the mac haven't restart yet which is required for this update, it says. can't seem to find the the update in the application folder but i don't think ever will appear there.. It took a lot of time to download the software update on the wifi network and then install the os update. it took time! i also updated 5 other programs as a result of the update to yosemite..
