It only reaches to 59.90 or a little less than the full download before it crashes and restarts multiple times before reporting "unable to update minecraft native launcher" and quitting altogether. might be because i'm running it on mac but haven't had any problems before.. I ran software update to install the update to safari (4.0.5), and after it installed, it went into the portion where it needs to restart the computer. where it installs after the os shuts down, the update failed, and the computer restarted..
I am able to download the update, but when my machine starts restarting i'm stuck at the software update launcher screen. the screen is completely black and i have no functionality. the only way out is to hold down the power button until it shuts down and then start up by pushing the power button again.. Maybe another apple id logged in to the appstore - launchpad/appstore is still trying to update software that isn't linked to your apple id. log in using the original id and complete or cancel the downloads, then log in with your own id again..
